I own the quiz machine so have no rent to pay etc - just the ongoing cost for the games dongle and vat on the takings.

The fruit machine I don't own and have to pay rental on that every week - along with license money and vat - and the brewery take 50% of the fruit machine money and I have to pay the vat on their share as well.

So indeed there are weeks that the quizzer takes more money but they are few and far between.

Some weeks the fruity will pay several jackpots out and after paying all the bits out I have even had minus weeks whereby I owed them money to come out of the next collection.

Its swings and roundabouts - there isnt an exact figure or percentage I could give you i'm afraid.

That's not quite true. It is quite straight forward to answer PMK
PMK wrote: A very quick deviation from topic.

Whiteswan- Whats the difference in weekly/monthly cash box takings from the quiz to the fruit machine?
Simply take the year's takings of the fruit machine, subtract the year's takings of the quizzer, and divide by 52 or 12. That will give you the difference in weekly/monthly cash box takings. PMK did not ask what you made, simply the difference in the money in the cash box.

Simples

That's fairly standard Supplier practice.

It's the brewery that are having his pants down if they don't pay half of the rental & licence fees.

Slightly misleading regarding paying the brewerys share of Vat.
Vat is payable on the total takings.

So if you took £235 the Vat is £35

The brewery want £100 so you either give them £117.50 and let them declare & pay £17.50 vat or give then £100 and pay £35 Vat over yourself, either way you end up with the same £100 net as the brewery.

As stated above its dictated by the brewery/pub company.

I have no control over it whatsoever - I am not complaining I knew this when I took the lease on 6 years ago.

Has Dr Paragon disappeared from the site since this all began?

Even their Facebook site has been quiet apart from a top 10 every now and then............is there anybody left at GW?

So how come you can own and operate a quiz machine, but not a bandit? That seems unfair, on the brewery

What's the crack with pool tables, juteboxes, pool tables, video games, and grabbers?

For your information]
A very quick deviation from topic.

Or is it a national secret? I have got a calculator which I can lend you if it helps; but unfortunately it uses electricity, so I am not sure it is of any use up north.

The agreement the brewery asked me to sign all those years ago stated that awp's and pool tables must be on a 50/50 split with themselves..............they forgot to stipulate swp's

But if it makes you feel better I will get my abacus out and work out the information you are so desperately seeking with regards to the difference in awp and swp money..................hang on..............back in a min...............ahhhhhhhhhhh............shoes and socks need to come off.................carry one...................divide by a megastreak and subtract a try again.......................GOT IT !

The answer is the quizzer takes less money than the awp......but sometimes it can take more..............

Games Warehouse as we all know that you monitor/post on this board - please can you contact me with regards to what you want to do about the whole mess of a situation that arose with my OPEN machine.

I was told you would telephone me late last week to discuss some form of compensation / restitution....... but as yet I have had no communication from yourselves.

there is probably a better channel of communication available on this one. but with freedom of speech comes responsibility of action.

Do you not think I have tried other avenues of communication with them? They don't respond to my emails, pm's or return my calls..............I thought it was worth a shot on here.
