It's annoying how often coins land on their 'edge' so that they do actually roll. Can't think of a time where it has just landed flat, leading to a simple bend and collect routine. ;)

Horrendous carpet patters, as mentioned, are also a chore. Wooden floors lead to coins rolling for a seemingly endless duration. If you are near / in a busy part of the pub and you drop a coin, might as well just write it off...

Why not bring a doormat or something with you to stand on when you play, so any dropped coins get stuck in the bristles.

I have found myself doing the 'mad juggler routine' whereby a coin slips from up near the entry slot, bounces on the machine, I try and catch it but just succeed in causing it to bounce elsewhere, reach for it again and punch it into someone's pint! ;)

Don't arcades deliberately buy carpet so you can't see when you've dropped money on the floor. Think it's the same company that makes the special slots when about one in twenty coins goes straight through without registering credits.
Roulette free since December 2011.

Basically the same as a pub carpet - effective at hiding wear, coins, vomit and other fluids, and at one time cigarette ash, while still lasting for 300+ years before needing replacement.
