Is this making a comeback? Seen it on a couple of local machines, one of which I'm almost sure it disappeared from when it got taken off overnight.roberto la vigna wrote:There are several Puzzlers still about - mebbe they were just removed from machines that registered some portent of possible bummages.

hit 1530 today (last round a tricky wordsearch wanting ONE, TWO, FOUR and FIVE but they weren't too nasty)
i hear a canard about 1873 (pre-chip)
would anyone in the know care to divulge what the recall problem was?
unfo the 1530 was on a machine without the national board. incidentally the board looks very average so far. i mistakenly got 1050 odd which made the top 50

1430 earlier is 4th in the Realm
. if there was a prize for the tourney, this game might be worth looking at. i reckon 1650 is a doable score with friendly categories.
also the other itbox in the pub has the circuitboard Bob saw. there is no way anyone got 18xx on the gaffertape titbox.
anyone in London who fancies a shot: go to montague pyke on shaftesbury avenue.

Yeah - you're prob right. 450s on the two anagramming tasks, 400s on sudoku and a.n.other would do it.dmac wrote:i think I got 1537 on the puzzler. I reckon 1700 is possible if favourable categories are played perfectly.
A prerequisite would be a poorly-played machine - on the ones near me, prebummings had reduced the chances of tv anagrams or wordsearches being partially solved to near zero.
