ITBox update - Heads Up Texas Holdem

Post by quizard »

Is this the same one that is on Gamesnet? A questionless obsensibly genuine Texas Holdem game. £50 JP. This one must be fixed of course. It shows you the composition of the deck before you start. One for the mobile phone camera maybe.

Also saw a DOND No Questions stand alone today. A really good use of a fruity cabinet.

Posted 18/03/08, this is at least the third thread on this game, I am confused. (But interested!) :?

Games like this are not good news. I've never seen an SWP game yet with no questions that was much good to a quiz machine player - err rather obviously

have to disagree Quizard. there was very good money (in SWP terms) to be had from Word Cube and WU at various stages. i personally enjoy DONDNQ but poker is not for me.

:D

it is very slow but does seem pretty fair. if you can remember the first ten cards (you don't need the order of the last six) then you can steal a march (providing you don't crap out on the skillstop). i am only marginally above average at poker but the wimps in the early stages can be bullied (even if they hold the better hand). it is something different and i applaud it.

whether it will clog up itboxes for more itinerant players remains to be seen, it is the sort of game which will be replayed over and over by those to whom it appeals. this won't be good obviously.

afaiac it does the job, it paid for my pint but realise that it is a chocolate teapot for pros.

Yes I can just see IT Boxes et al clogged up with hoards of chavs playing this game preventing people from playing good honest quiz games :(

It takes a long, long time to get through your 50p on this one.

Fair enough, I've only been playing this particular game when I get to the local, I felt very foolish for a while. :o ops:

out of all the SWP games i have ever played, this is the one which makes me drink fastest, the subtleties are beginning to become clearer too.

I find that the way to speed up the early rounds is to deal your opponent an Ace first hand up confident from the skillstop selection that this will not be paired on the board and deal yourself something that will give you top pair.

Then go all in and watch them suckered by their ace hole card.

On a different note, I crapped out in the £10 round last night and it just reverted straight to Itbox main screen. ie no prize- is this a glitch that others have seen?

NM, yes, there does seem to be some odd behaviour with the prize structure. i have won the £5 round and it told me i only got £2 for beating the klutz at round 4. not had the tenner yet but if i were you i'd be coughing ice that the machine didn't pay out.
