New fruit steps red - cashcade
New fruit steps red - cashcade
Ok here's what you've all been waiting for, its a gadd/ccp style new red, looks exactly the same, other than it has a standard red/blue feature thing on the right instead of red/white x's - similar to life's a beach.
Right lets get started on this one... first board all red bar 2 on 1 fruitstep £10 light, hmm, feature offered is blue hidden riches.... usual new red blagging you I'm thinking.... Anyhow on I go.. £10 in goes to £15 (red7's as usual) naturally, no 1/12's etc, so I'm thinking ok.... can't go far wrong here...
£20 later then it does ARB1/2/3, 5 running boards, ok surely thats not all blagging boards I'm thinking..... should be fine... YOU'D THINK!!! Especially considering it's gone to £15 ages ago.... On those boards it went to £10/15 a couple of times but lost to the top on good numbers...
Then it decides that its goodbye to red boards for the next £60, and randomly blocking the £10/15 in fruitsteps on good numbers, every board has it's own mind, sometimes its stone and blocking £5-6, sometimes £10-15 loses on a 2, sometimes its blocking £10...
Anyway obviously STILL no top, £100+ in, having got to £15 about 15ish times and lost every time, mostly on 3/4. Red's very randomly coming and going - ok blatently they mean nothing I'm thinking.
Starting to worry if the £15- top will ever unblock, £150+ in FINALLY there it is.. £35 YAYA!!! Not red at all afterwards but having deduced this means jack shit anyhow doesn't bother me, besides it cant have no more tops in after £150 for £35 anyhow...
After that the next £40 merits 2 more £35 tops.... right, ok what now... reds mean nothing, blocks are random; one board is £15 happy, next £5-6 loses on a 2.... how do you know where you are.... didn't have time to carry on forcing as pub was shut in 20 minutes, tried to bank it... miserably failed... did a couple of red boards, in amongst 10+ non-red or 1/2 mixed red/blue boards, sometimes won to £10, sometimes not...
Right ok lets sum up... and yes, I know this is only from 1 experience, so its not set in stone obviously
1) reds mean nothing, seems to randomly do arb1/2/3, went through patches of doing it all the time, then it just goes
2) random blocks between £10-15 and £15-top
3) top likes £35, even if massively overdue, and gamble to the top is terrible
LOVING IT

Gah, I was really hoping that Red would not tamper with the winning formula of this style of machine! Why tighten these up? Most people didn't have a clue how to play these in the first place (I know a lot of us on here do) and I'm pretty sure that they were good earners for Red, and good earners for those who knew how to play.
As you say, this was only based on 1 experience, but knowing your knowledge of Reds, you've probably got it, sadly for us all, spot on!

"And do you ever contradict yourself, Minister?" "Well, yes and no..."

ob you must have the anti-force version (
) even though halfway through it gave you £70 from £40, so there must be profit in it at times, you were in the wrong place at the wrong time. But like you said - unreadable, which means alot more casuals will get lucky with £10/15 wins, setting the machine further back more for you 'pro's'.
Are Reds doing a Barcrest and losing all credibility with recent relaeses?
SMTM, S&L, CIOLI, COB, CLT and now this, seems to be a pattern emerging. Maybe they should change their name to Browns.

yes I might have been unlucky that time, that's why I said nothing set in stone... the thing is how are you going to know if its going still or not, when it doesn't red - it's going to be really hard to know... btw when I was getting those other 2 tops after the first one, it didn't red at all.
CCP/GADD rarely lose to the top on 3/10, yes had it lots but not like 10-15 running times lose. Also might I add, this never gave a skill bonus or number runner...
If going to £15 for £10 in isn't a good time to play it btw, WHEN IS?!?!? It was doing it's blag you red boards at the time too. Also if from going to £15 it costs £140 for the top, then after you get a £70 top and it goes to £15, you could misjudge it to still be there, and end up doing ur plumbs here like I did....
All in all, it just "felt" awful... and I've a really long experience of playing these fruit step machines, but I'll be happy to be proven wrong by other ones, although if they still play up, it's going to be the last time I play em
PS:
Mattb, I never tried to say I was that unlucky, I was merely pointing out that you were damn lucky!!!

Have you ever thought that the Barcrest/Red are actively programming against the player, a player is a player because he makes money from the machines, definately not the clientele that are good for the business, therefore machines are now programmed to offer 'random' red boards giving the punter a chance of taking a decent win from a decent red feature, or getting 12 nudges off of beer change and happily collecting the 15/20/25.
It's just business and unfortunately there's nothing we say or do that will change it.

Sounds just like Cash or Bust
OK so they are different in the fact that one is like a Vortex the other a fruit step
On COB they red when not due, dont red after flat tops even when £200+ has gone in
They lose on £7 for ages
Throw in a ARB1 board offer red hidden riches and still cost the earth to go and its usually £35
All in all they are very very bad for us but good for someone who chucks a bit of spare change in and spawns a good red feature as does happen

I have had one of these in the local for a few weeks now, not had any problems with it going up at all yet. In fact, every time I've felt that its gone up quicker than expected (it is a fair jump from 15 to 35...)
Tops so far have been mostly 35s, a 70 and a 40 (!). Not really done back to backs, but has been obvious when still there for more, even if it has taken a bit to get it out. The show has also seemed fairly reliable (although by reliable I mean as much as SMTM usually is, rather than something like Crazy Cobra used to be...)
Out for a blast later which will include a look at it, will let you know how I get on.

fair enough, I'm not going to discount it from one bad experience, although I'm doubtfull this one will actually pass test anyhow...harabi wrote:I have had one of these in the local for a few weeks now, not had any problems with it going up at all yet. it did but very rarely, and the same ones were offered repeatedly so they were probably the gash ones.Nixxy wrote:Did it actually offer any good red features on the ARB1 boards, Ob? Or was it all a smokescreen...
oh and as for young OB being unlucky MattB. . . ask him how he did on the old Globals yesterday

Fuck you Noel.
