thanks FSM i had st. jamses' wort stuck in my head but knew it wass wrong.
okie. in the earlier parts of the last century, doctors would argue for patients suffering from a certain conditiion to have their brains cut in half. this was a drastic but real opperation and it genuinly helped the people who suffered from said condition.
what was the name of the condition? for bonus cool points what was the name of the oppreation, and who pioneered it?

'fraid not, a wiki check reveals thats where a hole is drilled into the head and bits-o-brain are removed. in this particular opp. you don't actually loose any brain.
Fuck you Noel.

Lobotomy? That was used to cure some mental conditions, like depression and schitzophrenia (although usually all it cured was independant thought.

3 misses i'm afraid.
The cardinal is in the right ball park, symtom-wise, however. the opperation is called a corpus callostomy (rather amusingly) and refers to the main nerve . . .thing that connects the left and right brain . . .things.
