on reflection, this sounds a lot like STEVE W (not sure if he is still active) but if it was he is mediocre, not a threat to the mighty pseud let alone mavens.

you're right pseu, the "big bear like" bit does suggest steve w, it was the havant area that led me to propose max.
Not seen steve w in a while, despite our natural routes home and into town being the same!!!

Steve W has had his hair cut and actually looks relatively smart these days

Maybe it is a different Steve W but I saw my steve W on Wednesday night.

The guy I'm thinking of used to play a lot of WU in our area but not sure he bothers now that everything is absolutely burnt.

Also plays a lot of the other non Q&A type stuff.

Have seen him down a pint of bitter in one before now on realising that the Itbox wasn't taking coins.

Given my activities in the areas in which Steve W has been sighted, I'm amazed I've not noticed him before!

He attends some sort of social function in the upstairs bar of the Devereux Public House, Fleet Street every other Wednesday evening I think.

Have seen him before in Ye Old Cock tavern Fleet street many times and also over Fenchurch street way years ago.

I remember chatting to him years ago in the Dev about WU when it first came out. He wouldn't know me from adam i suspect.

after more than a year (probably two) i have seen him twice in the last week. he did have a new 'do, less scruffy but i'm hardly one to go on about sartorial elegance.
no real point to this post.
