If you were to own a machine, what would you have?
I am in the market to buy a Fruit Machine which is a few years old and wonder what peoples favourites are.
My criteria are:
1. Numbers/Trail to get on feature (rather than 3 in view)
2. Feature in the form of a 'lapper'
3. Lots of features
4. Fairly new
5. £25 Jackpot
6. 3 Reels (rather than 4)
7. NOT THEME BASED (In caps, because I really hate machines which have 'tacky' sound effects)
8. Preferably Barcrest
Does anyone have any suggestions?

I'd say get a bell fruit machine such as Lock buster, Tubular bells, Cop the lot. I find bfm machines a lot more fun to own cos they are more harder to read unlike most machiens I have owned they are too easy to jackpot them then they play dead for another £25 with bell fruits i find they will play more alive at all times and give a good steak every now and again.
If you was to get a Barcrest i would get a King kebab as cardinal richelieu said or vamp it up but I think you would get board with it quite quicky as it plays dead for a long time when you have got the top streak, don't get me wrong I think they are ok just more fun to play in the pub than in your home.
Other barcrests I like are
Addams family
Cash bang wollop
Golden dragon
Frenzy

Thansk for the tip about 'King Kebab'. I think I have found a nice one for a good price.
I was told to go for Hot Stuff/HellRaiser/Vamp It Up/All Fired Up.. I missed out on a 'Vamp It Up' and looked at a few 'Hot Stuffs' but they were a bit scruffy due to the 'matalic body work'.
I have now been offered a 'an new' All Fired Up for £350 which seems to be a good price, but massivly over my budget.
But I am now tempted to take the King Kebab for £100 and work from there.
Out of interest.. In terms of home play.. Does King Kebab have as much to offer as one of the Hellraiser clones?

it has about 12 features, each one normal, super or mega.... it also has 6 more features on the barcode.
Hellraiser is one of the better recent efforts which actually require a little bit of thought, but for a £100 one, I'd snap the KK in a shot.
Now what I would really love to own would be an old £15 KK unchipped (with the let 'em spins on the barcode). Not the most profitable or speedy emptier that's been about, but certainly the most enjoyable to do. And it lasted for about 3 years.

Many thanks for that.. I will buy the King Kebab.. Its actually a better deal than I said, as he also has a spare MPU5 unit for it.. So, I could either keep that for spare or sell it on.. So, £100 is quite good..
I have looked at the pics and its actually in VERY good nick.. The only problem is that there are a few scratches/gouges in the rounded bit at the front (the piece with the Barcrest badge in the middle).. Hopefully I can get this off and will be able to give it a rub down and respray.
Many thanks for your help
All the best

Bellfruit
Even though I have only played it for the first time today, I quite like Bellfruit's Powerball (25p play, £25 Jackpot), which was in a local Wetherspoons that had it (along with Barcrest's Space Raiders, 25p/£25 JP). I like the Powerball feature on it, as you actually need to use skill to fire the ball into the feature you want, rather than hitting the button on a pre-determined 'psuedo skill' selector/stoppa on the display. Got on the board after £2, and was offered a streak, which landed me £10. Would have continued, but had to go as my bus was about to arrive. So even though only £8 up, didn't do too bad really, will definitely play this one again.
There has been quite a debate as to wether the m/c has a magnet in or not or 2 balls
I am not getting into the argument all i will say is that i have noticed that it will only let you get so far before landing in the ?
Not played it much at all as its bell fruit but i see what you mean it is fun to play with

Always been simple for me...
£5 jp Psycho cash beat, the BWB one with wins starting at 20p
£25JP, then an all fired up or close would be my favourite(also matches your criteria too.), or a really new red, just so i can experience a £30 for a board and not have to cry.
For the sheer fun factor though i remember a "crazy money" by bellfruit being immense.
Allthough i can't think of a machine i wouldn't be bored stiff of after a week...
