Would look at Newcastle today to do Boro. 11/10 generally, (2.2 Betfair) quick. Whilst I'm a usual believer in draws for derbys, Utd have been pretty decent at home of late.

Things should go from bad to worse for Pearce today. Boro look a great price at home on Betfair (2.3), evens elswhere.

Like the look of Sheff Utd today to do Newcastle. 11/8 generally available, 2.4 Betfair. Warnock should get them motivated now they're in the bottom 3.

So much for Warnock.

Get on Charlton to do Reading tonight 11/10 generally, 2.28 Betfair. Suspect they can keep their run going.

Must admit I do like the look of Spurs today at home to Arsenal. Recent meetings suggest a draw, but at 9/5 with Premierbet (2.9 Betfair), Spurs look a worthwhile punt

Everton should turn Pompey over at home today. They did enough against Utd last week to indicate they'll score, and Pompey have failed to score in 4 of their last 6 away days.

1.97 on Betfair, 4/5 elsewhere

Good finish by defoe to sink Charlton. The Reception the supporters gave the players at the end was moving.

Villa to do Bolton today. 5/2 generally available, they were 3/1 yesterday.

Little Sam is no Big Sam. Bolton may be next season's Charlton.

Back to normality at last after an up and down cricket betting season.

For those of you interested in such things, last season's tip (to a £100) level stake, resulted in a profit of £218.75. High point was +£733.50, low point was -£200.

Feel free to join in with your own tips but I only make 1 Premiership tip per set of fixtures i.e. 38 per season.

If you do join in, please quote latest prices, preferably betfair unless you can find better elsewhere.

Today's Tip:

Villa are a mammoth 4.5 on Betfair (a miserable 5/2 elsewhere) to turn Liverpool over. Can't knock the value and Villa usually start well.

It was speculative on the value, and it should have been a draw. but that's football.

On the midweek matches, Blues look sound at 2.54 on Betfair to do Sunderland (11/8 generally). This is really just a championship match, and Blues did enough at Chelsea to suggest they have the quality up front. Sunderland look incapable of scoring.

Thanks to Stern John there for ruining my Wednesday night.

Still, no matter.

Plenty of value around this weekend in the Premiership, but without doubt the standout bet if you can get on it is Pompey to do Bolton at Fortress Fratton (2.04).

5/6 is available with your high street bookies.

1st winner of the season thanks to Pompey.

We'll stick with the 'Sammy Lee is a rubbish manager' theme and go for Reading away at Bolton today. 7/4 generally, 3.35 on Betfair. Can they lose 4 in a row? Maybe. He'll probably get the push if they do so could be a humdinger game.

Sorry to hijack your thread QM, but Motherwell are 10/11 with Coral to beat Gretna away in the SPL... not bad odds, but even better when you remember that Gretna's home games are being played at Motherwell's stadium this season.
