Pub Antiques
Saw this machine while I was having a day out at the weekend. Pretty sure it's the first time I've seen a cabinet like this in all my travels, I'm guessing (based on the games) because it's incredibly old, not because it's incredibly new. It set me wondering what the oldest / most unique cabinet is that still exists in the wild...I knew of a couple of original blue inde cabinets up until a year or so ago, but I reckon there's bound to be a kebab shop somewhere with a dodgy Give Us a Break which only accepts old 10p pieces. Anyone able to give an Antiques Roadshow style opinion on this specimen?

Its not all that old really. They only came on the scene about 7 or 8 years ago but never became widespread. I think they were more aimed at independent pubs rather than chains. Favourite standalones which survived in takeaways well into the 2000s used to be machines like Monopoly or QoS but I haven't seen any for a while.

A very similar menu to that one, but in a smaller cabinet (which usually failed to pay out any win at all!), survived until earlier this year in the bowling alley in Woking. Caveman Capers being included looks a bit odd to me - from memory that is a couple of years newer than the other games on there.
Within the last year or so I also knew of a couple of JPM GameBoxes (Millionaire, Pepsi Music Quiz, Winning Lines, the ten pin bowling game etc) which were from circa 2004 but those have now gone as well.

Antiques Update
Spotted yesterday on my travels, a stand-alone WWTBAM machine. Was that the last cabinet which had just the one game on it, I wondered to myself? Whether it is or not, I don't think I've seen one since 2003; meanwhile you can pick one up on eBay for the bargain opening price of £4.99, if you're tempted. If anyone wants the location, I will swap it for an Adders 'n' Ladders, or a Treble Top
