considering you can get flat fee courier services right across mainland uk I can't see that its much of an issue.

theres a courier/man n van website ,,,,,,, not sure what its called sorry

anyhow you post online the job you want doing ,,,,,,, for example ,,,,,, a sofa from london to leicester ,,,,(it asks you to state the postcodes foer the distance calculations )

thats it ,,,,,,,,,,, then all the drivers bid online for it ,,,,,,,,, with obviously the lowest quote getting your business

we had a second hand sofa delivered from derby once for 12quid ,,,,,,,,,,,,, poor bloke couldn't have made anything much out of that lol ,,,,,,,,,,,, but i guess their living in hope that you will use them again directly next time etc

Making it pay is all about the logistics, plus was the bloke actually paying for the van and fuel or doing it on the side using company vehicle?

Loaded up with 10 items a 12 quid all on route could be quite profitable.

I used to know some one who worked as a special constable, they got a unmarked van to work from... they would do courier servicing during the time they was supposed to being doing policing and getting the expenses and making a few quid on the side.

good point russ ,,,,,,,, maybe he was on route with other drop offs etc ,,,,,,, im sure some of them are

but we as the consumer are the real winners , even if we're trading on the misery and desperation of the provider and the harsh climate
