But England didn't get any decent crosses in against Macedonia, not one.
Am I the only one who realises how good Beckham is at opening up a game? Then my mate 2 metre Peter would have scored loads of goals.
Stuart Downing is dreadful. Why play him in one of the best midfields in the world?

I'm also angry about McLaren playing Downing. He's so bloody inconsistent, and not rally world class.

It gripes me that he will play an unproven Downing happily, yet not even consider Beckham, who has done it all before. I'll be gutted for him if he doesn't make 100 caps. The guy almost single handedly got us to world cup 2002 with some outstanding performances (think Finland/Greece). Give the guy a bloody chance, especially when we've no right siders properly fit at the moment.

If anyone should go it should be Lampard at the moment. He's been diabolical the last 10 or so games for England.
