Barcrest Sold for 33 Million
Lottery supplier Scientific Games has agreed to acquire gaming machine manufacturer and content provider Barcrest Group Limited from International Game Technology (IGT) for approximately £33m in cash. The transaction is conditional on obtaining UK competition approvals and certain third-party consents and is expected to complete during the third quarter of this year, a Sci Games statement said. Upon closing, Barcrest will be integrated into Scientific Games’ gaming divisions, The Global Draw and Games Media. The deal will extend SciGames’ server-based presence in betting shops, pubs, bingo halls and gaming centres across the UK, as well as access to new lottery customers in Italy and the Czech Republic. Sci Games will also acquire Barcrest’s library of slot titles for internet and mobile channels.

Could this possibly mean the end of manufacturing of new machines?

aw shit. this cannot be good. Lets be honest when IGT bought Barcrest, things turned to bollocks. I assume SG will get Red gaming as well, and OK they have not been excellent lately, its still gonna get worse!
The only good thing is if SG get Barcrests back catalogue and even if they keep the orginal j/ps, it would mean a Juice is worth checking out!

You can put them on consultation almost immediately though.
Maybe some wish that they hadn't been so sloppy over the last two years!

I'm fairly sure they'd have some decent grounds for getting rid if they knew about half the things that get programmed in...sir ratholer wrote:Under employment law, they have to.darren wrote:Maybe theyll keep the same programmers?
It'd be funny if they brought legal action for unfair dismissal and the first witness for the prosecution was John 32 and his star wars machine
