entente cordiale?

Post by cool »

Matt B , graduate based in Cambridge . Sir Ernest , graduate based in Cambridge. I would hate it if another pro was based where I live. How do you cope both being based in a town as tiny as Cambridge. Is it cosy chats around a log fire exchanging stories about Word Up adventures or this town aint big enough for the both of us? At the other extreme London must be the ultimate nightmare with every other person professing to be a pro and the quality of the machines being rubbish .

I wouldn't dream of comparing myself to the masterful Earnest, or his partner in crime Bob.

SWP isn't really my area of expertise. I'll play the odd game of bully or something with mates, but i'm a core fruity player, have been for years.
My Word Up skills amount to getting about 1400 in the 5 minute version of puzzle world. Seeing as you only get 2mins in WU, i don't even bother playing it! :P 8)

I was in Colchester this afternoon though, noticed a big stack of VBob scores in the Playhouse while i did over the Life's a Beach in there. SWP professionals to the extreme!

depends what games you play. there was someone who could routinely JP donkey derby round here. (i never encountered him or her but it used to always be £1 level five, JP level six.) i never really play the learnable games where i am because you can bet your bottom 50p that there is someone doing the rounds who is much, much better than me.
if i were somewhere like leicester square right now i would see queues of scruffy players vying to get first crack at the machines after the weekend throughput. once i did go to the big yates's with two itboxes at 11.00 on monday for a couple of games on WU. i was first in then six or seven other people came in, ostentatiously bought a half of coke and lingered nearby (or around the other itbox). it was like SWPholics not very anonymous.
nobody ever wins on those things.
