.
It's a squad that contains a lot of players that have been overlooked in matches to date, although it does take account of form. This surprises me given Capello's precise nature that he hasn't has a closer look at Bent, Johnson, Parker. I'm a City fan and wouldn't have SWP even packing the bags onto the plane.
It's a lottery once you reach the last 8. I just hope it's not the same story of coming up agaists a side that keeps the ball a lot more naturally, which snuffs out our drive. If that's the case then we haven't moved on Since '06.

Always carry a flagon of whiskey in case of snakebite and furthermore always carry a small snake. WC FIELDS (1880-1946)
The GK situation is laughable too.
One GK has been relegated with his team, one GK's team was very close to relegation and the other GK has been on loan all season but has been outstanding.
I think Green will be the No.1 but Hart has to be very close to being in contention, especially when you consider Cappello's 'player in-form' ethics.

Well thats what the dodgy Italian geezer said when he took over - he'll pick players on merit, which makes a big chunk of the 30 picked a joke.
Unlikely and never to be seen first XI :
GK - Joe Hart
LB - Leighton Baines
RB - Glen Johnson
CB - John Terry
CB - Michael Dawson
LW - James Milner
RW - Adam Johnson
CM - Frank Lampard
CM - Scott Parker
FW - Wayne Rooney
FW - Darren Bent
They've all had a good season or finished the season in form.
Probable first XI :
GK - Robert Green
LB - Ashley Cole
RB - Glen Johnson
CB - John Terry
CB - Rio Furryhands
LW - Stevie G
RW - James Milner
CM - Fwank Lampard
CM - Gareth Barry
FW - Wayne Rooney
FW - Emile Heskey (shouldn't really make the 23 though)
Injuries Permitting.

This is exactly why england won't win it (you do however fail to mention that the outstanding keeper can't even get a game at his parent club too!) Quarter finals at best. At 11/2 - 6/1 ish it's a huge lay.ma71lda wrote:The GK situation is laughable too.

No decent right back either, tons of injury doubts at centre back and a striker who is almost sure to be picked despite the fact that if he scores 5 goals a season that's a prolific one for him.
I cannot believe that Capello has picked Carragher and tried to coax Scholes out of retirement. May as well go the whole hog and see if Michael Ricketts is available to partner Rooney.
On a positive front, Gilberto (not the Arsenal player, the worst ever player to don the lilywhite of THFC) has somehow made the Brazilian squad despite being the only Brazilian native ever to not be able to trap a football.
Bored of the grind.

Not a bad investment that, but I'd be nervous if Rooney or Messi got the bit between their teeth early on in a match...
I believe there was a scientific (!) study into this and teams in red 'generally' win more.England should play in blue, its the colour that seems to be winning things
"And do you ever contradict yourself, Minister?" "Well, yes and no..."
