S16s - Utter rubbish

Post by Oli »

Had a go on my first section 16 last night. What a load of crap. Firstly, how is it random? Does reel one randomly pick a positon, reel 2 randomly pick a position etc? Was only playing on 3 win lines while i got the hand of it and got four symbols in a row. The chances of this happening randomly are at least 1,000 to 1 - probably much more. So, i assumed i was in the money only to paid a £4 win.

What on earth do i need to get for the big wins? Dont these things have a payout percentage, otherwise what if it decides to pay the top prize on the first pound thats ever put into it?

Firstly what machine were you playing?

The machine can do whatever it wants as it has a RNG (random number generator) installed, this picks out a series of numbers which are displayed as symbols on the reels. If it wants to pay the jackpot on the first go it can, it can even do 3 jackpots in a row.

The big wins detemine on what machine you play ie if you play an ELVIS TOP 20 to get the VERY HIGH wins you need a full screen of WILDS or ELVIS'. Or you need to get 4 or 5 of a kind wins of the symbols or bonus games, disks, guitars or jukeboxes, or if you have a new edition of the game with the progressive feature the Silver or Gold pot which tops at £250 and £500 respectively.

Hope this helps, PM me for more info

I'm not sure what the name of it was. Although at one point i got three of the symbols with boxes behind them (like the hidden features on normal fruities) and the machine showed a cartoon of a chef being blown up and then it went all weird and was spinning random fruits which would fly to the top of the screen and turn into a cash value. Once you got three cash values in a row you win them. (I got 20p, 60p and 40p = £1.20 win). I dont know if this rings any bells for you?

If I was playing one of these machines and I got what you described, and then got given £1.20 (which wouldn't even be rounded up), I'd be a very sad puppy indeed.

But I don't suppose you need told that.

have to agree on the whole here too, although..

was in Kingston last saturday and put £10 into Goldrush (i think) second spin came £40 from specail feature thing, 3rd spin came £200 from lots of blue face things in view, fourth spin came another £250 from loads of bank signs in view. walked out with £603.50

this will never happen again!

smaller stake = more chance of a smaller win.

I used to play these big, but the best thing for me now is, if i'm up on the day from £25's, i just stick £20 in an s16 on £2 per play and press autoplay, hwatever happens i come off whether it be £50 or £500, my best is £1400 from the £20 but i doubt it'll happen again

I'm fairly sure that they are not random and don't claim to be completely random, i've heard they just have like a random part fitted which can make it go over or under it's set percentage payout, but surely this has to be made back up either way?
My local ones play at 94% which is probably true as even though i've lost over 2000 without anything decent i've also dropped it several times from my first few games.
But there is no way that each spin isn't pre-determined, just no way!

re last two posts on this thread..

you are not looking at the bigger picture here,

the simplest way of looking at it is this:

you press the button
without moving the reels the machine decides if you win or lose
it then decides how much you win (between 10p and £500)
it then displays on the reels a combination of symbols and pays the win

if you win £10, it can either spin a roulette wheel to £10 or just give you 5 images of an alien.. it doesnt matter to the machine which way!

but to you on the other hand it does, because psycologicly you will always see an element of ranomisation on the roulette wheel, the 3 cards on a cashino or the money adding guitars etc...

but you must realise that the amount they pay has already been determined way before they start adding up!

the machine is programmed to keep you interested, giving a set of bonus's every few presses, but it is only a style of lottery, if you could see the programming behind the graphics then you wouldnt be playing them at all!

they put dvd quality plasma screen images and cd-surround quality sound on a box and use it to rip people off day after day..

limit yourelf very strictly and it can be fun though, the £20 in and 10- spins-collect method seems to be the best.

I only ever play these 50p a spin. had a few decent wins inc £500 and £125. But I am down overall. If it is going to give you £25 it ALWAYS does it either from a bonus or 5 JP symbols. I have never seen 3x3 JP symbols (5x£5).
No wonder I drink!

I've found the way to come away with profit on these is to limit yourself to 10-20 quid per machine.
If it doesnt pay from the first note, sod it.
That is how people lose hundreds/thousands on one machine.
There is nothing to chase, the machine will pay when it wants.
A couple of days back I walked with a hansome profit(£150 for £10 stake by moving from machine to machine.
A spin and win gave 40 from the first 10,Slotto gave a quick 50,as did little devils, and Elvis gave 60.
Rainbow riches and another couple gave nothing from the first ten,so I got off.
Also it's always a good idea to pop in for a gamble when youur time is limited.
How many times have we spent hours in arcades to have a win and plough it back in?
Now I just play for a few minutes.
That way you either lose a little bit,or come away with a decent win.

As i said in another post i once put over £2000 in spin n win and cam off with next to nothing, i won't play these again like that and if i do play at all it's £20 then take what i get, there's just no routine with these machines and no way you can even consider forcing them :x

Yeah, but when each of the 8 or so machines don't pay on the 1st note you'd be up how much? Even just £10 in each would result in an £80 loss in the space of 5 minutes.

Suppose you could class £80 as a little bit.
