yeah had this on a sit-down Bar X 7 before, (as rare as it is)

even if it appears sorted, i recomend changing the mpu,

usualy just an ageing electrocoin..

BUT..

did you check your all the lamps on the buttons? to ensure non have been removed?

could have been zapped!!

Yeap all buttons where there, machine was resetting itself in game play when it happened, did clear the ram which cleared the bank, but machine will not setup just keep resetting itself

not the buttons, the bulbs in the buttons.

when you take the light fitting out of your 'start' button and 'auto start' button, are both bulbs still there?

if not the machine has been conned!!

would def change mpu, regardless.

as for the ressetting

if it's a sanken psu check your 5v pin on loom, often comes loose

had a casino bar-x do the same years ago.
i walked upto it and it was showing 88.88 in the bank ,the collect button was flashing and the usual sound for the collect bank was playing.
much chuffed was i when on pressing the collect button i was gifted lots of pound coins ,it paid 50ish out then showed 88.88 bank again ,it went empty during the second cough out and done that 'orrbly loud empty alarm that bar-x's do. :x .........................needless to say i made a hasty exit.

i know that a flashing flourescent in one of these can do weird things to these sometimes.....dunno why though????

yeah , an old project reflex with a flashy flourescent went 'wrong' for me back in 'nam ,the credit alpha went dodgy aswell ,probably caused by the dodgy flou .it had unlimited credits ,bank could only be collected on thirty quid though lol. needless to say there was'nt much left in it after :D

I would use a meter and check the yellow wire for your 5volts,It should be about 5.2v,if it is lower the machine tends to reset and corrupts the memory, also I would check the pin for signs of tarnishing or blackening and this could cause your machine to have less than 5 v and also reset
