GROLF!

Been playing golf tonight on a 9 hole par 3 (par 27) managed to get round in 35 on my 2nd round, which is good! for a course with tiny and very rough greens..

I love golf, it just gets frustrating at times when things dont go right.
like on one hole I got a 7 (not good)

Its hard to chip off some of the fairway, the ground was rock hard! and just couldn't seem to get underneath the ball.

Scored 5 pars and a birdie in 2 rounds, the rest were mainly bogeys.. Improving!!

Brilliant game! I love golf but can't play as much as I would like to.
My clubs are not the best but when I got my first birdie I was over the moon.

yeah, its very flattering when you get a birdie, I punched the air in delight!. Its great when you kill one off the tee! One hole at the course is 150 yards flat and I went through the back of the green with a 6 Iron! probably not that far, but its a lot further than I used to be able to hit it!

Shoulder Turn is important.

Ahh my fellow golf enjoyers!

Glad to see you are doing well chaps. Been to the range this eve after watching much of the masters which gave me the itch. It's amazing how watching it on TV can improve you. The fence is at about 230 yards at my local range, and out of about 25 drives and 3 woods i hit, about 8 must have hit the fence. Never hit so many so far! I also hit a 4 iron over 200 yards, what's going on there eh! Crazy!

Can't wait to play my next 18!

Perhaps if any of us ever were to meet then golf would be a good Icebreaker.

The only problem is the costs, I heard are huge! Our local cours eis £4 to go round, pitch and putt type. Longest hole is 160yds.. Very small greens.

But a full 18 hole course with par 4s and 5s would probably cost something ridiculous to go round. Green Feeeeeeeeeeeeeees..

Icebreaker? More like window breaker if i'm at the tee

I should imagine 18 holes in Cumbria is reasonable. My clubs were £180 for a full set, and i just spent £40 on a PowaKaddy trolley which is nice. Unfortunately the south is always dearer. My local course i play (which is superbly kept) is normally £25 for a round. Luckily my grandad is a member, and he can sign me in for £15. £15 for over 3 hours golf is great value if you ask me!

I played in Oliva and Denia in Spain last year, and they were very expensive. 2 rounds of golf, 2 buggy hires, and 2 sets of hire clubs set me back about £200!

Good job i'd been saving half a year to go! Worth it though, makes you feel a right pro playing a 5* course!

Dunno if it was him but my dad always used to quote someone who said a golfcourse is a nice walk ruined (or something similar).

Not very good at it but i do enjoy playing it, not got me own clubs or anything like that i just borrow my mates when he goes

Actually, I've nothing against golf, it's more the unbelievable snobbery that goes with golf clubs (no shirts without collar in the club bar ... WHY??? WHAT WILL HAPPEN. WILL THE SKY CAVE IN???)...

Having said that, give me a nice game of boules anyday.

EDIT: What you've just described is a strict NO-NO among the golfing fraternity.

Im not your average golfer though

I used to think the same about the snobbery but i think things have changed a lot nowadays, the people who play are a lot more common just look at how many of this lot play
