Hi again everyone I thought everything was hunky dory but today I tried to dump the hoppers no joy I have tried just opening the cash cupboard turning the program key and pressing the rocker switch and it tells me how much is in the hoppers but does not go into dump and I have tried the red button on the main board and no dump or in fact they normally kerching it does not do this on either button please help as I sold the machine for pennies I might add and the man is not happy thanks Chris
Nothing to do with the red button on the main board. A common reason for this happening is that a "part credit" remains to be played off ~ i.e. you have got it set to 30p per spin, have entered a £1 coin, taken 3 spins at 30p each + 90p, but there is still 10p worth of credit left.
Have you managed to dump this machine before ?

It seems to me that there's 2 possibilities here, especially as no-one has been able to dump this hopper recently ~ getting the hopper to pay a win is a different matter altogether.
The 2 things that I'd initially suspect are, (I'm assuming you've checked there's no credit left to be played off) are the refil lock itself, and the dump button.
Firstly, with all doors shut, enter a turn the refil key. Does anything happen ? If yes, then it's ok, if not, then it's either a faulty refill lock, or it is not connected at the back.
Secondly, it's been know for the dump button to have become disconnected, either intentionally by a previous owner for some reason, or accidentally, when moving the cash boxes in/out. It is also possible for the button to fail, although very unlikely. To test this, I would perform the same dump routine that you already have, (once you're satisfied that the refill key/lock is ok) and then by-pass the dump button, by joining the wires. If the dump routine now works, then the button is your problem.
