Empire Strikes Back - The Good The Bad and The Ugly

Post by JG »

The Ugly
----------

Well, the old mixed bars, jp up above. One spare nudge. When it rolled a 12 onto bonus for me to go lower for taxi, I thought Christmas had come early. It was then I realised Father Christmas didn't exist as it blatantly skipped off two nudges. We could do with some Christmassy weather now come to think of it.

The Bad
----------

I had no nudges to spare, same set up, board started on bonus on a 12, gambled to taxi. Landed on ?, roll even to continue, thought I was dead but aimed for 12 anyway. 12! AMAZING! 12, would it let me use bonus taxi....would it fook, button as inactive as a dead dodo.

The Good
-----------

Today, average gameplay, a couple of £4 boards, nothing sensational, about evens then nudges on top bit of outer board. Grape(3) one up left, Grape(3) two up right and it has given me THREE nudges off the nudge square. Pinch (myself) punch, second of the month. I blinked so many times my contact lenses nearly popped onto R2D2. End of the trail for a quick £70! Nice.

Very much a pile of shite. It got one chance off me from a factory £70 reset, and i still lost £30 even though it couldn't have been more ready. I'd rather play a DOND :x

This is simply shite.

Talk about taking any sort of control away from the player. Blatantly stopping buttons working when it would lead to an unintended rip?! I know there's no 'players' charter' as such (perhaps we should make one?) but that is just plainly unfair. Along with the 'The outcome of any game or feature...' blurb, I bet there was not a 'If you can obtain a Jackpot when I don't really want you to, I will stop all my buttons working' disclaimer...! ;)

How can these blantantly cheat the player? Skipping off and not letting you use your bonus is nothing short of pathetic.

i think you could take this one straight to the gambling comission citing their 3 main licensing objectives: no2 "ensuring that gambling is conducted in a fair and open way".

Lugsy. This guy (Stuart) has been spouting the same thing for about ten years. No-one in the GC seems to have taken much notice. He started on
Arcadia. Whenever anyone asked for a reply, all of BACTA's memebers said "No comment".

He emulated a JPM that you couldn't win a gamble on (hi-lo). ie Higher/lower than a 7.

i was unaware of this.the gc definitely seems a bit toothless though, i would assume that under the new act that they would have little choice but to act because it blatently proves to manu's that they can do whatever, whenever, otherwise.maybe they should be threatenned with the minister and he inturn with a man wearing a guy fawkes mask :x

Just a few tweaks in the program would sort out those two big mistakes. I mean we know it's all 'fixed' but even so, it's a bitter pill to swallow.
If it didn't want to kill me, it should have rolled onto a 2 when I aimed for 12. Even better, don't offer roll even to continue, just give me an eliminator or something like that.

As for skipping off nudges, bad, very bad. Easy to code in something that makes it NOT start on bonus if on 1 or 12.

Alright on 92% in the arcade. I think that 'random' BIG MONEY out of nowhere shows that this does save for a freebie. In fact I know there is free value there.

However on 70% in Spoons, well you might scrape a few quid, but is it worth having to put up with all the inebriated tramps for that?

I like the music of John Williams and I like shooty things that warp around in space. Actually do I? Do I? I'm not so sure. If I was blasted into deep space, I wouldn't care that much for shooty things shooting around shooting at other shooty things.

Yes, that was the first bit of evidence that I remember from the Fairplay campaign.
