New Paragon bug?
Can't see reference to this - but I played 2 different Paragons in separate locations in the space of two days. When you come to collect, it instantly gives a hopper error but doesn't specify how much it owes. In the first bar, the manager turned it off and on again, and it had no recollection of the bank. Went by to pick up my winnings (a whole 7 pound) and the engineer hadn't been, but the machine was on again and they'd had no more problems with it.
On a slightly happier note, the other machine in ********* (name withheld for legal reasons), I got diddled out of 21 notes. Despite the bar being a bit of a dive and I'd never been there in my life, the manager just gave me the money instantly - along with a sincere apology.

This is absolutely a standard error. Not sure what triggers it, but it will happen from time to time. The hopper error also clears after about 2 mins and goes back to the normal attract mode.Cardinal Sin wrote:Can't see reference to this - but I played 2 different Paragons in separate locations in the space of two days. I take it you didn't win anything on those credits?tonkarentino wrote:In three consecutive pubs today I managed to play two pounds worth of credits and then the machine simply refused to take any money. All three were new versions of paragons. Coincidence??
This machine may at times offer a choice where the player has every chance of bankruptcy

I had this error yesterday - first time I'd had precisely that error I think. It was only for £11. Barmaid switched machine off and on again and the cash had disappeared - mindful of the advice on this forum I insisted on giving them details even though the pub's a fair way from my work / home.cp999 wrote:This is absolutely a standard error. I've had this too. Went to collect £13, instead was presented with a massive great X and a hopper error sign. I wasn't going to bother claiming because the amount had disappeared, but the friendly barmaid said I should and I was given a call within 90 minutes. However, the expert engineer said that there had been £9 in the bank. This was obviously £9 more than I expected to receive so I took it, but it was a bizarre end figure to have been on the machine's memory (I'd won £10 from one 50p and £3 from another).
Another interesting(ish) Paragon point I've noted in the last few weeks is that they've now removed the 900 second rebooting delay which got introduced as a defensive measure when machines were getting "plugged" a few months ago. That is to say, once the machine has risen up to 100% on all of the three bars it shows when it is rebooting, it is now ready to play immediately thereafter. I said at the time that I thought the 900 second delay excessively penalised honest players who were rebooting e.g. a machine which wasn't taking coins, and am glad to see that they've now removed this once again.

Just to clarify - when you say "new versions of paragons".tonkarentino wrote:In three consecutive pubs today I managed to play two pounds worth of credits and then the machine simply refused to take any money. All three were new versions of paragons. Coincidence??

OK, I see what you're talking about now, having experienced it today.
A bit sneaky I suppose, but really no different from the original that asked you to spot the different cover out of 20 (?) images with no discernable differences as far as I could see (although you still had a 1 in 20 chance with that one).
