June hails the return of?????

Post by gambogaz1 »

PACMAN

Barcrest Games has teamed up with Namco to develop a range of themed games featuring the phenomenally successful Pac-Man brand.

First released by Namco in May 1980, Pac-Man’s arcade success outstripped that of every previous videogame, including Space Invaders, Defender and Asteroids. It became the biggest selling arcade machine of all time, realising over 350,000 units.

Tim Kennedy, Sales & Commercial Director, explained: “Pac-Man has all the elements required of a popular brand. It’s familiar, fun and it appeals to our target audience. Even better, the Pac-Man game has a format which can be applied to an amusement machine to create a compelling product which players will recognise and enjoy.”

Games are starting fast-track development and Barcrest Group plans to launch the first model in the summer as a £70 Category C reel-based game.

Wonder what delights this will bring?? I can picture a RR clone with little pacman symbols all the way up the cash stack.

Why the insistence on re-hashing old ideas? In most (if not all) companies followed this lead, they wouldn't exist!

Come on Barcrest, come up with something new! Something that we remember because YOU invented it!
