Text Tiles
New game I saw on the itbox today (along with some nuts magazine quiz)
Very very much like word-up but with layers, so theres letters underneath letters you knock off, if u get me.
must have been brand new as I was the first to play it. scoring is a little different and to acheive "extra time" you have to find certain 3 letter words (which is hard as their not always there).
Got about 2240 as my highest score, about 25 words or so.
very good game i suggest you try it!

Team VB are ever keen to see, to touch, to taste the phenomenon that is DaveJon and see that it is good.davejon wrote:our highest about 9000 or so. once you clear the 3 layers, a new board arrives which is good. Good game.
I suggest a challenge match: Montague Pykes, Charing Cross, Thursday 7pm. (Two machines so gives the option of alternate or simultaneous play).
If the time isn't good, suggest another - don't wimp out, now.

I found this to be confusing compared to the likes of Word Up. It suffers from the Word Cube problem at times, due to the angles due to the perspective of the tiles. And i kept pressing the last letter to enter the word, which of course ended up giving me another letter which i didn't need or want.
I found it confusing, and the extra time words didn't seem to add much time. I wasn't really looking at how much though - so can't comment too much on this. Looks good - trophy room is a nice touch
Should do well...
Penalty Shootout, however is FUCKING ATTROCIOUS!!!!

agree about the trophy room. however the only people who will play more than a couple on TT are people like me who play WU etc. while we can win £3 easy enough once and then £1 afterwards that renders the game moribund. people who aren't interested in word games will give it a wide berth and it will gather dust.
TT doesn't have the same appeal as WU because of the points mentioned above. £3 profit out of every machine is hardly worth the effort. it is going the same way as 90% of other recent additions to the revolution stable.

nobody ever wins on those things.
