'Regular earners' are highly dependent on who is operating in your sphere of influence.

Unfortunately for you Grecian, God operates in your area.

Grecian - was on your patch yesterday having decided that it was too risky to traverse the city to get back to E14

It was a truly miserable experience. Pubs that I used to "own" would barely profer a £ (even for semi-decent WU clearances). Things like 100 to 1 , DOND etc might as well have just gone and pissed in the wind and to cap it all the Spoons on Chancery lane is down to 1 SWP (occupied) and 1 AWP having previously had 4!

Yes, quite a few one-time machines have disappeared - the Slug and Lettuce for example, and the Blue Anchor. I'm not sure I ever remember that 'Spoons having four ItBoxes but maybe it's before my time! Also, I've been busy at work so really have been limiting myself to short lunches on the few very local machines - and they're all utterly spent as a result. :(

It can't have helped that, just at the stage when the pub trade was already struggling and lots of people are probably being more careful with the spare quids that they might previously have chucked in a quiz machine, that the main games released for 2009 (Rocket Money, Play Your Cards Right, Cash Smasher, Family Guy) are such dross and that at the same time there are more and more £1-only games around.

Now the sort of people interested enough to read here may welcome £1-only games in some cases, and some £1 variants in the past have indeed been well worth the extra stake. However Joe Public is used to seeing recognisable changes in payout structures when the unit stakes have changed on fruit machines (£25 JP to £35 JP etc) but will struggle to see any discernible difference in the possible prizes they might win on £1-only quiz games.

Other than the obvious things like pubs closing or machines being removed/faulty, lack of throughput is the real killer when it comes to being able to win consistently on any decent quiz game.
