Hate to say it, but MikeJ is pretty much right.

Nothing much will change now that Obama is in. Why should it? America is doing very well out of its current policies, thank you very much. It still needs its oil and it still needs to rattle its sabre at its perceived enemies. War is big business in America, and the election of a black president won't make much differece.

A similar wave of euphoria gripped the nation when Tony Blair got in, and look where that led. The same goes for Bill Clinton.

I wish him the best of luck but somehow I don't think he's the Messiah, we'll see how long the 'novelty' of his skin colour lasts too.
