Deals on Wheels

Post by Northern Monkey »

Seems to have made a come back on a few v61s. Chanced a 50p on it in a well covered haunt the other evening and the entire spiral was made up of Q squares ie no bonuses, no arrows.

The prize in the middle ....£1.

Dont recall ever seeing this when it was widely in circulation?

I quite enjoy deals on wheels.

Many a time I've deliberately lost so as to get a better "wheel" with the same questions.

I think they've had to take something off the back screen and DoW has stepped in as it's usual replacement. There are one or two round my way in the state you describe Hornby - in particular the Wetherspoons on Chancery Lane. I can only presume it's the standard state it reverts to when a player of Suri-type standards nails it for more than it's willing to give (which probably happened back in the day, rather than since the re-appearance) - which I'd have thought would be more achievable on DoW than most. Equally, though, I've had one or two where a £10 quasi-JP has been very easily achievable, which is a pleasant surprise locally.

Aye but think I would have been there a long time to get right round the wheel as described.

Normally second wheel is less than first- wonder if it would have dropped to 50p if Id had another go.

Also forgot to mention that by the third Q it was throwing in absolute kippers

I saw this (the £1 "JP") on an ItBox at the weekend but bizarrely it was only Deals on Wheels that was in an unplayable state - all the other decent games were playable.

On a related subject I've started finding Trivial Pursuits in London on the '99 questions per round' setting; suspect a "terminator" on this game may recently have visited London...
