CDG itself opened in name in 1974 (or '72 depending on which source you believe!)steveseagull wrote:aaamusements.co.uk wrote:Meanwhile in Paris in this year, what relatively momentous occasion was celebrated?
Umm, silly question, but why did the French celebrate the 34th birthday of c de g airport? Do they do this every year? And did they celebrate it a few years ago after that walkway collapsed? or was that Orly?
The old pre-existing airport was called Aéroport de Paris Nord.

I am not trying to to be pedantic but why would they celebrate it?
I have no idea, which is why i am asking.
I wouldnt put it passed the French though, they need something to celebrate!
no disrespect intended, steve.

"In this year" referred to '74 - not "This year". Sorry if it was not clear or a little too cryptic.Meanwhile in Paris in this year, what relatively momentous occasion was celebrated?
