Epoch - Elegance - Flashback
Ok this is very generic, I hope to be more detailed in a bit.
When the machine is powered up, nothing on the outside lights up. I have a buzzing noise and a faint swooshing coming from the speaker. I'll post up some pictures of which LEDs on the boards are lighting up and which aren't. There are all lights on the power supply in the cashbox, bar the 'sync' one. When I switch it off, the LED lights up briefly.
When you switch it on, it makes that 'Vvvffffong' noise that very old wooden teles used to make. There's a buzzing which resonates the whole cabinet. The metal around the cashbox locks is starting to rust in places, I would imagine it has been stored in damp, dusty conditions for a while.
I probably shouldn't go on Ebay whilst playing poker and whilst drinking waiting for the Calazaagagzagzgazgzgagazhe fight, but errrm any clues?
More exciting pictures and maybe a video to follow. I've got to pop over my Mums first, haven't seen her for a bit.
Back soonish.

I believe the EPOCH main board is situated on the left, behind the reels. There is a little green widget with 630 on the plastic coating. It appears sound, no leaking. In fact the circuitry appears to be sound.
I believe the PSU is the widgetypoops accessed via the cash door. It looks like the casing is slightly rusty and it looks nasty and dusty. The LEDS light up, all bar 'sync'.
Of course I haven't really got a freakin' clue, as the only time I've previously seen inside a fruit machine is when the Golden Games do their lovely PAY UNIT ERR 17, usually on a £70 repeat pot which is paying out at bank limit implying a guaranteed continuation.
There's no money in the cashbox, in fact there's no cashbox as such, just a little cardboard box in the right of the machine. It has had £60,000 coins in and has paid out about £55,000 according to the metery things down there.
Anyway, I'll do a few snapshots later on, when I get back from my Mums.
I'm guessing the PSUs you can pick up on Ebay. Can you pick up masking tape on Ebay as well? I have a very angry girlfriend who is not appreciating the full potential of a malfunctioning rusty Elegance cab in the hallway.

Probably the PSU - stick a meter on it.
(make sure you have a load across it)
Bollocks to all you idiots!

I'm stumped!
Popped into the local Showboat and they had a stadium PSU pretty much waiting for me. So excited was I, that I rushed back in double quick time. I whooped out the old rusty box and connected up the new fresh PSU.
Flick, I flicked the power switch, flick it went as I flicked it.
The engineer said he had tested it and it was working.
Alas! Nothing, lights on the boards, but nothing else.
I popped my reading glasses on and shone a torch on the EPOCH main board. I did notice a minor trace of rust, didn't look like leakage, just a bit of rust near that battery.
Maybe I should replace the main board?
Pictures coming up extremely shortly.

Right, what have we here? My editing suite is playing up at the moment, so these are not all rotated correctly.
The first two are pretty self explanatory, in case you'd forgotted what a Flashback looks like, or you are too young to have been born when Flashback was released, then this is it! FLASHBACK. Notice the peculiar garbage in the LED, which it has started spewing up.
The next picture is the side of the coin mech, just above the hopper. There is one solitary green light here.
The next picture is a bit more complicated. To the left is all your wiring to the bulbs underneath the top glass decals. You can see two circuit boards as well. The smaller less prominent one houses the % key amongst other things and the bigger one is maybe something to do with all the lamps? Anyone, one green light on each.
The final picture is just a sample test snapshot of the jackpot symbol.
JACKPOT!

Ok, more pictures folks.
The first photo shows the right edge of the main board where not all the green lights, light up.
From top to bottom you have RESET, +VDISP, +VLOGIC, -12v, +12v and SECURITY. Only the =12v, -12v and +VLOGIC bulbs light up.
The other board is the (I assume) board to drive the reel motors, and that has one green light on it.

Ok cheers, AAamuse, I see you have an EPOCH main board on Ebay, so looks like I'll be purchasing.
Also that garbage on the alpha only came up the one time. The swooshing from the speaker was a bit more frantic and the LED actually bothered to light up. There's a horrible humming from the PSU, it's like I have the whole of the National Grid in the bottom of that machine. Probably normal, I guess you just don't notice it in an arcade.
Maybe my rusty PSU wasn't so bad after all.
There was something else I was going to say, forgotten it now. Errrrr.....it'll come back to me.
