I had my first footy bet of the season last week (and first for ages) and got 5 out of 6 correct, Coventry let me down against Derby, a £5 stake would have returned £192 :(

Might have another try today.

There is always next week fella, good to see you having faith in the super soaraway seagulls, perhaps you should back them every week
If you want cheering up about your near miss there is a thread in the Bookmakers forum where all and sundry are dropping like flies!
I wouldnt usually waste my money, too much of a lottery for me the accys

The seagulls did me proud !
an unexpected bonus was that I watched the Cardiff game on sky ( I would not normally watch that league) and it was a great game made really exciting because I needed them to win
A fiver well spent and I will be having another go next week !

Get used to one team letting you down week in week out, 4 times in 10 days its happened to me including this afternoon - £3 on an 11 fold and all were pretty much bankers ( as good as you can get lol) and Oldham were the solitary losers. :(

Last season I had a stack of slips totalling just over £4k in winnings where one had let me down on my bet.......but as long as you cover your bets throughout the season its a great way to spend Saturday 3pm - 5pm. 8) :P

A mate has had a nice tidy £1,200 win today. He had fuller to score 1st and stoke to win 2-1 :P
He's been getting the beers in since the match so a few hundred will be gone before the nights out.

I agree, i always try not to miss Gillette soccer saturday, it should be bafta nominated, and jeff stelling is, apart from brian blessed, the hairiest national treasure i can think of.
It is gripping stuff but i think footie betting is a rip off, and correct score prediction accys are damn near impossible.
but all hail the saturday afternoon version of Tales of the Unexpected.

Yep, Sir Jeff Stelling, along with Brian Blessed is a national treasure. Saturday afternoons wouldn't be the same without his puns, quips and love for Hartlepool United.....take this afternoon for example, Guy Branston a Kettering centre back gets sent off, and what does Jeff come out with?

'Guy Branston sent off.....must have got himself into a pickle!!'

Genius.

The real odds are skewed heavily in the bookies favour. As most bet to about 111% you are practically getting 4/5 about a true evens shot.

If you have a 5 team accumulater all true even shots you would get (1+ 4/5) x (1+4/5) x (1+4/5) x (1+4/5) x (1+4/5) = 18.89 points back for a one in 32 chance of winning (evens x evens x evens x evens x evens)

A ten team accumulater returns 357 points for a one in 1024 chance (about 35% return)

Betting exchanges such as Betdaq are the way forward.
Roulette free since December 2011.
