peculiar new(?) machine
I saw a rather snazzier version of the Inde:go over the weekend than I recall having seen before (although I could be wrong; I've only ever seen one Inde:go in London, and it could have been as much as two years ago). There's a picture of it here: http://www.games-media.com/html/indego_platforms.html . Unusually for Ind:e, quite an attractive looking cabinet, with front and back menus a la ItBox (looked like a deliberate attempt to capture the look of an ItBox, I thought). Usual-ish sort of line-up of Ind:e games although it did have Connect Four, which I've not seen away from a GamesNet before. Could be being a dope and these have been around for ages, but thought I should report it anyway.
If you're in the pub I was in (and I think it would be in your neck of the woods PP), I put it on the low table by the sofa just by the left of the machine!Properpro wrote:grecian wrote:I saw a rather snazzier version of the Inde:go over the weekend than I recall having seen before

i like this cabinet, it has a particularly pleasing payout mechanism. but, as has been mentioned, the disc drive/coffee holder issue is a problem which is common to ind:e cabs. it is bewildering really that a pub machine disallows players to have a pint. also gamesnets without the beer baskets have this basic design flaw, which is irritating.
nobody ever wins on those things.

A couple of points:
1. Wasn't sure what Istenem meant re the pay-out method as either the first Inde:go I saw didn't have that method or I never took more than £3 at any one time (could've been the latter was I was playing with the wife who's very cautious and likes to collect the cash!) Not sure why there's the £3 limit - gets very boring if decent sums have been won.
2. Found a standard Fatbox cabinet with the Inde:go double screen line up installed on it yesterday which is promising - Ind:es have been gradually disappearing from my London haunts and those that remain are looking very tired indeed - they could certainly do with a re-install. Interestingly, the one I found had several games in very generous mode, but Caveman Capers was at £1JP despite only five high scores having been registered - two of those were by "S", though, so I know who I suspect here. Being a Fatbox, it of course had room for drinks on top.

Found another Inde:go tonight in central London, which featured a Caveman Capers which was visible on the backscreen, but when pressed offered only a forlorn "unable to play" (NOT: "unable to pay") message - I presume this is the equivalent of the game having been withdrawn automatically on old Ind:es. If so, it looks a bit lame, and is tantamount to flagging that a professional has visited the machine!
Dead right Grecian, tardy work by Indie makers!!grecian wrote:Found another Inde:go tonight in central London, which featured a Caveman Capers which was visible on the backscreen, but when pressed offered only a forlorn "unable to play" (NOT: "unable to pay") message - I presume this is the equivalent of the game having been withdrawn automatically on old Ind:es.
