Pretend horses, diddy dogs, whatever you want to call them.
How are winners selected nowadays?
I was originally lead to believe that its a lottery type machine with the favourite getting the most balls in the machine followed by the 2nd favourite etc, etc.
But having watched about 15 of these races where the favourite didn't come in the first 3 on Saturday (thereby screwing any forecasts, tricasts or wins on the favourite) I'm starting to wonder if there's a 'fishy' element to it.
Of course if it is still drawn the way I was to believe originally then perhaps I just saw an unlucky run for the favourites.
Perhaps just a variation on the 'Roulette' argument?
