Underwhelming big cash prizes

Post by grecian »

In tandem with GGDR, we managed to take a £16 "moneybags" prize out of a Spin To Win this lunchtime. That was surprising in itself, but it was exacerbated by the complete lack of recognition the game gives you that you've actually managed to win anything apart from seeing that you've got four moneybags. We could only tell for definite when we crashed out of the game and the £16 was visible in the prize bank. Anyone else got any good examples of very underwhelming prize payouts?

Had a Straight Flush on the Texas Hold'em Quiz once and it just put £20 in the bank and ended the game. No fireworks or anything.

Very impressive QM - for something as rare as that there really ought to have been some fireworks.

The only time I ever won the £20 on Deal or No Deal I remember that being very underwhelming.

The alternative way to look at this is of course this - you win £16 on Spin to Win and you STILL find something to complain about?!

LOL, maybe it was just an excuse for braggadocio on my part! We were delighted to get the £16, particularly as we also got a £10 rooms prize on Cluedo and £5 on "second" (i.e. worst) WWTBAM as part of the same session (incidentally at the same pub where I got a Pub Quiz JP and a £10 on Treasure Island about a fortnight ago. Now that's what I call a "raving" machine.)
