Omaha PL

Post by Cardinal Sin »

In anticipation of getting my arse handed to me in the Fruitchat All-Comers Challenge.

I sat down the other evening for a gin-soaked game of texas hold'em. only to find, due to my inebriosity, I'd managed to get involved in a MTT Omaha PL game.

I was instantly flummoxed, and folded hand after hand whilst I tried to find out how to play Omaha, not an easy task especially when all the words keep moving round the screen.

But I persevered, and a couple of buy-ins later, I managed to go out in the bubble - accompanied by a very loud ARSEHOLE!

However, I really enjoyed it, and played a few STT's, and I've been doing pretty well. It's pretty much the same as Hold 'em, except you get 4 cards instead of 2, and you need to use 2 of them (with 3 on the board).

You get fewer people fishing (especially cos it's pot limit) and because you know the other person has got 4 cards to choose from, you assume that they have the nuts rather than hoping he doesn't.

Also, people always forget that you have to use 2 out of their hand and 3 on the board, so many folk seem to think you can get a flush with only the A of the suit in your hand. Others think that having 3 of a kind is a good thing.

Anyone else play it at all?

I've been doing pretty well as of late - started using Betfair since I signed up to a betting account.

Might give Hi-Lo a shot, though I don't think they offer it on Betfair, though they do on Bill Hill

much of a muchness - far fewer people than Bill Hill tho. Some of their tourneys allow rebuys.. only 9 people max per table.

I only got into it cos I got a betfair betting account, but it seems ok.

forgot to say, they offer 3 different speeds of games on tourneys - the super turbo doesn't last long if you're after a quick game.
