Your Creative Side

Post by Matt Vinyl »

Reading another thread where a lot of people see 'full-time work' as a bore, if they had to give up playing for a living, made me think.

I'm always working as hard as I can to not have to work. When I was younger (and single!) I was into writing / producing music. Spent about £15k on equipment (synths / mixers / effects units / software) and wanted to make something out of it. Never got anywhere, but there's always the future.

Now, when I get the time, I'm working on programming casual games, etc. Not finished one yet, but loads of ideas kicking about and things in progress (a problem of mine is getting bored and giving up to 'try something new' and then end up bored of that and the loop starts again!) There's definitely potential to make money on that front - probably not enough for me to chuck in my job, but enough to allow for a lot of extra pleasantries.

Also into writing too, although not had much time / peace and quiet recently to do much of that. :(

My main point of the thread though, was do any of you guys have a 'creative' side that you could use to procure funds if playing dries up completely? Working doesn't have to mean office job / Maccie D's. :)

Nice one! Had a mate who was pretty nifty at that - amazing how it draws in the crowds. :)
