I like it when we get a really good thunder storm, not seen one here for a while though.. Things might change tommorow!

Apart from sports, music and gambling, it's also my other main interest (the weather). If i didn't do a sports degree, meteorology was my next choice! :o ops:

The storms are caused by lots of 'heat lows' forming over Europe. The intense heatwave actually creates low pressure with enough ground heating, which then in turn makes the storms brew.

If you are worried about the heat here, it'll be gone by the weekend. Wet and windier weather will sweep in soon. Another point is the summer of 1976. Anyone here old enough to remember that one? The June/July combination of 2006 is going to end up hotter than 1976. Who'd have thought it!

It may well happen in the afternoon tka. I'm playing some golf in the morning, so it best wait! I don't want to be a walking lightning conductor thank you! Failing the storm, 3 more days and the heat will be gone for a while :D

Was on the tube over the weekend. Absolutely deathly hot, ergh! :x

Hold tight, there's some massive storms about at the moment: http://www.metoffice.com/weather/europe ... index.html

I managed to get my game of golf in too. Blinding round in the hot sun. 4 pars, and round in 93. Very happy today! :D
