Good thread - although JP - you 'do' need to sort it out, if not for yourself, but for your lads! I remember that school sports day photo you posted and how proud you was of your son - you want him to grow up being proud of you too... You can do it mate - I'm sure none of us on here would mind reading a daily 'blog' of how you're doing off of the cider?!
As for my drinking habits - if I have Friday off work (which I find I use most of my leave on!) then I'll be in the pub from 9:00 in the morning until 11:00ish at night - getting through about 15 pints - that 'does' sound a lot, but it's only around a pint or so an hour - and lots of food is consumed during that time too (surprised I'm still such a skinny git!
)
I'll only drink on any other day of the week if:
-There's a party
-There's a BBQ
-There's a good footy match on
But maybe two Fridays a month for me drink-wise...

"And do you ever contradict yourself, Minister?" "Well, yes and no..."

Typical binge drink starting straight after football on a Sat, lasting until late.
Unless i've got something arragnged, it's just wine here and there through the week.

Always carry a flagon of whiskey in case of snakebite and furthermore always carry a small snake. WC FIELDS (1880-1946)
Very moderate drinker here. Like most other vices, pleasures in life etc it can be dangerous to some individuals. Look at gambling for example, a focus of this board, we all know the perils.
Maybe jpfuk, this is the moment that you've clicked inside and will stop drinking. You've got your lifeline there, just up to you how you make sure you take it.

Interesting topic. I hardly play machines now but used to be in pubs daily. I have always worked full time but use to play most evenings consuming maybe 5 or 6 pints of Stella. On weekends I was a massive binge drinker. Between 11am and being booted out of a club 20 plus pints and a shit load of spirits. I put a lot of weight on during these times as used to accompany my alcohol diet with anything fast food and practically had shares in ginsters. Nowadays purely sat night if out which is probably 15 pints of strongbow with little or no spirits.

I had 18 yrs of everything and i mean everything still sup a litre of bacardi on top of 20 pints when i do drink although that is not very often now and still dabble in other practices.Having my son changed all of this for me and stopped me thinking about myself.
Good luck jpfuk imsure you will do it,you HAVE TO!!
