When I managed a pub a few years ago our m/c's were refilled on Monday or Tuesday, as were most of the pubs in Skem, Wigan and surrounding areas. This made sense to me, plus pubs didn't refill daily and if they did it was in its infancy.
Oh well, if you're like me and don't carry a key its a case of 'right place, right time' anyway these days, and touch wood things have been good recently.

Knowing when ur m/cs get emptied is priceless. I have some on a mon some on a tue, I even randomly have one that re-fills sat because my friend manages there. She said it changed from a fri to a sat - weird.
Also - and this is what u need to look out for - is bars that refill when they can be arsed. This is infuriating and I'll even give u an example - Varsity. Sometimes re-fill it (bar staff) and also have a weekly empty.
Other bars refill every day without fail like my hi-lo silver. Daily refill without fail and the collector comes on Fridays.
