Weyland: I often find myself listening to that collection whilst the afternoons are lazy at the office. ;) SiDplay - I think it is, is a nice compact little player for them too.

Easy: You need to have been around in the 80s to fully understand / enjoy this thread (KYR moment coming!) not being patriotic, of course... ;)

Might try my hand at a few remixes, it's been a couple of years since I've had my synth rack out (oo-er!). ;)

@Matt: I'm waiting for iPod to support .SIDs - I can't be arsed converting them all to MP3s. ;)

@Lugsy: Yes, but I was a few years too late for the C64, I started on the Amiga.

I'm surprised no one has come up with a 'tweak' that would allow .sid support yet? I suppose the current difficulty is that .sid format is not truthfully a sound file, more the instructions of which sound to play / filter setting to set / wave type, etc.

Still, could be done. :)

@Lugsy: Nope, not me. "Weyland" is just a 'net name (from the company in the Aliens films).

@Matt: Yeah. I don't know if iPods use hardware or software to play files (my guess would be software), but if it is software, it should just be a matter of supporting another format. All the iPod really cares about is ending up with a buffer full of uncompressed data to play. :)

Some of the most basic but addictive games are from that era. C64 was far superior to my Amstrad CPC464 but my parents where from the (Computers knacker the TV's) Brigade so I got the amstrad with it's own green screen monitor :(
I wasted half my boyhood on the Dizzy series.
Anyone remeber Bruce Lee?? with the little fat green man as a 2 player mode. Class

As a bit of an aside, does anyone think that the Olympic music (particularly that used on 5Live) sounds like it was put together using a SidStation (a hardware Sid Synth) or similar? It's got that 'twang' to it... ;)
