GOORY top word score today, for 450 points.

(This may have required some cunning chaining of particular cubes.)

We should put together an exciting top 10 of itboxes based on screen responsiveness.
Here's my current no.1:

Congratulations to the operators, engineers and staff who made it all possible for...

I looked this up on beerintheevening to see which one it was and two things tickled me. One, this guy's review of the place:

"Quite the most fragrant toilets I have ever had the pleasure of urinating in. Literally 100 years of the good patrons piss left to grow and nuture in to something magnificently horrific. Go on, have a smell.

Decent enough pub though - but the Erdinger tasted like bubble bath."

I'd hate to know what a pub has to do to NOT be rated as "decent enough" by that guy!

Two, the description of the quiz machine:

"Quiz machines (Underground)"

This is I presume a very out-of-date reference to the old standalone Underground game, rather than an indication that you have to go down to the cellar to play their ItBoxes...?

9200 and something now.

There seems to have been a certain 'OLLIE/OLL' who has done a lot of these in London. Luckily, he rarely hits above 6000.

9600 and sth today - consistently hitting 8000+ with several 9000+.

Maybe tomorrow will be the day I knock the Glaswegian off his/her/their perch.

What I find curious is that the game does not stop at that point.

good effort, one pound does seem very mean for getting 10k+.
i heard talk of a fixed-level JP, does the rules page say anything about it? tbh i'm not playing this one much any more but will have a look later. not that i'm gonna get much more than 7k.
nobody ever wins on those things.

I've had NOTHING for getting 9.5k - 10k+ on various occasions. Mind you, I had already won a reasonable amount beforehand..
