For Sale!!!! (I think)

Post by Cardinal Sin »

Saw this on some lamp-posts in Glasgow

Image

I'm not quite sure why I like this so much...

It could be that you that from first looking at it, you don't have the first idea what they are selling. It might be good and friendly with kids, but I've still no idea what a "full luctur" is.

Then they mention it's a puppy they're trying to sell. But why have they drawn a picture of a sad face? Are they abusing this puppy?

Further on, we realise that there is a sale on, and the price is now £30, reduced from £100 (not be confused with the £250 price at the top of the ad, not to mention the £3,000 in the middle).

And at the bottom: not only do you get the 9 week old abused "FULL LUCTUR" puppy, but the price also "INCLUDES EVERYTHING"...which is a bit vague but legally I think it means you can take every possession they own.

But can anyone spot the funniest thing about this advert?

i agree,, it does have a perplexing charm.
is it the bewildering use of parenthesis?

That was part of its allure, but that's not the funniest thing about it!

Should really have stuck this in the quiz section, if that garlic-soaked Louis XIV hadn't beaten me to the right answer (if it is right).

Perhaps the reflection of the two pigeons in the sellotape?
Still kicking about.

I think that the original ad was:

For sale - 9 week old puppy. £30, was £100

It appears someone has added the rest on, as the ink doesn't match the other bit. Am i right? :D

The ball point writing is under the tape though and it looks like the handwriting is the same with the rollerball 'for sale.....' writing.
Still kicking about.

All good ideas (most of which I hadn't noticed myself). Particularly like the idea that someone has added to the original ad, but it unless they were a master counterfeiter, it would be hard to copy the handwriting as well.

I'll rephrase the question:

What is the biggest mistake the person made when writing the advert?

Still, your post-resurrection has exposed this woman (or man's) stupidity to whole new generation of Fruitchatters.

Probably un-misplaced though! (surprised that wasn't on the the poster!)

I missed this the first time around, excellent!
