it is a current game (well soup is)

it lends itself to discussion because, like snooker it is a game of true skill which is different every time.
i like snooker, i will talk about it. i like word games, i will talk about them too. so ner.

As a 'Back on Topic' footnote, I actually managed two £8 wins on Word Soup yesterday which, given that my highest score ever is still under 1700, proves that there is indeed money still out there if you can look for it.

Because it's much easier and hackers like me can grab the money before the best players (e.g. UP & VBOB) get to it

golden tit
Expensive, shiny and soft - not a common occurence! ;)

I thought that was a purposeful mishap? ;)

i hit a PB today on WU's bastard brother today. i was actually playing very well for a change.
one game i had got ALCHEMICAL which is beautiful but the wordlist disallowed EXTRATERRITORIES, maybe because it is 16 letters or maybe because it is a bit iffy (not as iffy as ZEX, QAID etc.)

A monstrous score, congrats. I can only imagine you shaking with rage as you double tapped the last 'S' of your antifavouritest word ever.

I saw what I believe to be the highest score ever mentioned on these pages at the weekend - I'd like to claim credit for it but as my top score is still 17xx I think that would be pushing it somewhat! The score in question was 2444, with the top word used having been QUIZZICALITIES for 784 points. It's just a little odd that no one on here has claimed credit for this score and indeed that the default WORDSOUP username was used on the High Scores board. Was this any of you guys or is there another top player out there somewhere? Of course, to prove it was you I will need you to confirm WHERE I saw this score...

that is an excellent score and i'd be surprised if Mr Bob had not been nearby. was it in catford?
possibly it defaulted a bad swear on the scoreboard? or whoever got it was embarrassed by scoring so many points for such a vulgarism as Q~IES?

but it would be a nicer story if it wasn't a Bob and there was a contender lurking in the shadows.
