If you have an account and present the money properly bagged up in £20s they can hardly refuse.
5 bags a day is the limit at my bank
What just £100, what sort of bank is this?

I've banked over a couple of grand in quids numerous times. I don't know what sort of bank turns your money away.

The Halifax have a notice restricting deposits of coins to five bags a day. Such an impersonal service since they demutualised.

I'm an ex-employee of a bank and yes most of them limit you to 5 bags per day. HOWEVER, as a helpful hint you GENERALLY find that this limit only exists on their more popular accounts. If you get one of their 'less known' accounts with crap interest rates, you will find that there is no limit to the coins you can pay in.....

So, open one of these crap accounts, pay all your coins into there and as soon as you get home, transfer them into your normal account. Sorted.

thats rediculous you bank saying a maximum of 5 bags a day, im with bank of Scotland and they have never said anything about taking a few hundered pounds in coins in at once. I dont see how it is an issue for them as its all money, its like saying they will only take 10 £20 notes off you or something, its all money so shouldnt be any different how much you punt itno your account, be it in coins or notes.
You can always go down to your casino and change them there for no problem at all.

I worked for Barclays for 3 years and in the dozen or so branches I worked in I never saw one customer refused if they wanted to change money or pay into an account using coins.

Business customers regularly depositing, withdrawing or exchanging large amounts of change pay for the service, because they tie up a cashier for a significant amount of time, often at busy periods. Personal customers are usually allowed to deposit or exchange properly bagged up change. If someone is running a business through a personal account so they don't have to pay any charge, they would be strongly encouraged to speak to a business banker to discuss why a business account, even with the charges, would be in their interests.

If you're not an account holder of the bank you are going to, or you are, but aren't bagging the money up properly, tough. Sling yer 'ook.

If you are a personal customer and you are bagging the money up properly and are still being refused, change banks.
