The is the most ridiculous thread we've had in ages.
The author is complaining about being barred from every pub yet doesn't seem able to link his own behaviour with the reaction of the landlords; and half the people who have responded are incapable of stringing a sentence together without becoming abusive.
Seriously lads, this is why having SuperArcadia was such a good thing - it confined all this drivel to another site.

This machine may at times offer a choice where the player has every chance of bankruptcy

Try wearing a suit. Not a shell-suit, I mean a proper suit. Look as if you're on your lunch-break, or meeting someone.
You'll blend in when you go into these town-centre bars and pubs. No-one will notice you, and the staff will not watch you. Buy a drink immediately. If you're making the money you say you are, it won't hurt to buy some food from time to time. You have to give a little to get a lot back.
However, if you go in wearing jeans and trainers, pockets bulging with coins and waving a refill key about, you'll get noticed straight away, because you'll stick out like a sore fucking thumb.

I've never been barred from a pub, for winning on a machine or anything else.
Walk in, straight to the bar. Buy a drink.
Say thank you.
Make a little small talk if barman / landlord has time.
Play your machine. Get another drink if you empty your glass.
Take your empty glass back to the bar as you leave and say thank you and goodbye.
Easy

Its a bit of a nghtmare when that happens, but it does.
A lot of the time it isn't even your fault, but the other muppet players who act like idiots, starting fights when getting barred, or the toolers who are plain stealing. Unfortunately as far as the landlord is concerned each and every one of us is doing exactly the same thing.
To be honest tho, the worst thing you could have done was ran away when you got told the police were coming, in the landlords eyes you've just confirmed that you were doing something illegal, and thats what the rest of the pubs will have been told. Even if you do have previous, they'd never convict you for playing a machine, emptier or no. And as for a refill key - they aren't illegal to own, may not even be illegal to use, and I doubt the police could identify one if they saw it, just stick in on your keyring with the rest.
Have you actually tried going into the other pubs yet?
Probably not a lot you can do either way, just have to get on with it...
On a side note I think its scandelous that pubs can call each other up and describe you, then call you a criminal. In no other walk of life that I can think of would a business, or a member of staff for that business get away with it. They'd be charged with slander, discrimination etc etc, and don't even get me started about machine guard! They actually make money off lies and selling your photo!
I do understand pubs are a business, and we dent there income, because if a regular wins the £70, half of that will go back in shortly afterwards, and the other half over the bar. If I was a landlord, I'd bar players as a matter of principle, not because I think there doing anything wrong tho, purely for the reasons I just mentioned.

if you use your head, you will find it extremely difficult to get a barring.
1. Vary your 'hit' days, and times you visit the boozer. Landlords hate full-time staff, since they require a slew of benefits by law. Target shift changes. Target busy times, or times when 20ish year old women are behind the bar, they don't care or understand about fruits much.
It really is trivial to do. I haven't been barred from a pub in 3 years, and most boozers I go in daily. Some are rough, some are nice, and some are cliquey.. but as mentioned before, fit in. It works wonders.
A little bit of effort into something not about spinning reels will ensure that you enjoy the fruits of a boozer for many machines to come.
2. Hotels are difficult. It's open season on them. Unless you are staying there, it is really difficult to justify why you are in their poxy bar creaming the fruit.

The thing is it's very wrong to be branded a "trouble customer" for winning a cash prize on a form of entertainment that is designed to be attractive to people for the very fact that there is a cash prize on offer (e.g. "LOOK BIG NEW £35 JACKPOT" sign on top of machine).
I'm aware that many pubs are struggling financially but if they site an AWP for extra income then they should be aware that a percentage of the money that goes into it has only gone in there temporarily. If a pub installed a video game or similar then they'd be right to lay claim to every pound that went through the mech but that is not the case with a fruit machine. If a landlord/lady doesn't like it when some of the designated percentage of money is won from the machine then all they must be expecting people to do, in a nutshell, is donate money to their failed business venture. If that's the case then the pubs demise is already assured anyway.
I also understand that a machine that's playing 'dead' all the time discorages regular pub goers from playing it. In this situation why not just contact the supplier and ask them to change the machine rather than exclude a customer? What great business sense! In my opinion the downfall of many pubs and the reason that so many are closing down these days is partly to do with these so-called regulars having far too much sway within a pub. Seriously, I'm not just talking fruit machines here, the other day I walked into a small pub with a friend of mine who forgot to shut the door. Straight away the locals pulled him up for it even though the landlord hadn't said a word and actually looked quite embarrassed about it all. Now I know my friend should really have shut the door but the way they were talking really wasn't very welcoming to say the least. I can't help but feel things would have been a bit different if it was another 'local' that had left the door open. When these sort of regulars either desert the pub or die then there is nobody to replace them because the next generation of drinkers will have been driven to the nearest Wetherspoons due to attitudes like that.
I completely agree with all the comments regarding being discreet and doing anything you can to blend in. Most things are pure common sense such as always buying a drink and being generally polite but it's amazing how many people can't even manage that. I'd always advise anyone not to carry a refill key almost ever and most certainly not if you're doing some kind of emptier as that's just asking for trouble (and I don't mean leave it in the car either!). It's also wise to carry as few coins as possible which can probably be difficult for people who play Red Gaming machines as many on here do. Vivids got a lot of stick for bringing heat in pubs and onto players in general but Reds are just as bad.
It's inevitable that very occasionly you will get booted out of the odd place but as long as you think about things and take all precautions you can keep this to an absolute minimum. In the last five years I think I've been barred from two places, one this year and one last but prior to that was nearly 3 years since I can recall another ban.

Surely if the establishment just got rid of the machine then all the money would just go straight over the bar and they would save on expenses to Leisure Link/Gamestec.I do understand pubs are a business, and we dent there income, because if a regular wins the £70, half of that will go back in shortly afterwards, and the other half over the bar.
