Take it or leave it.....
Hey everyone, im a new user and was wondering if anyone on here could give any decent tips on Take it or leave it on the itbox. I played it a few times today in the local and was terrible at it, but it is quite addictive and i am going to indulge again tomorrow...........so has anyone got any hints as to how i can pocket some money or is this asking too much?
Whilst im being cheeky does anyone have any hints or tips on cluedo reloaded aswell?
Thanks anyway......

Is that right QM? I managed an £8 win on the 50p game on TIOLI today so decent stuff is possible on the lesser version. On the £1 version I've found a tendency for the Booby Prizes to come in pairs i.e. ensuring you get one. I wondered if, (IMHO) like £1 play "new" DOND, the £1 game is less fair than the 50p one.QuizMaster wrote:Play the £1 game on Take it or Leave It.
Don't bother trying to solve the murder on Cluedo.
I think the story on TIOLI is probably try to be careful on the prize board - by all means leave a few crap prizes on the first few goes but bear in mind with each pair of boxes opened the chances of a Booby Prize increase...
On Cluedo Reloaded QM is right that the easiest way to a fiver is by collecting the suspects. In my experience, probably a majority of machines I visit for the first time will dole out all six suspects. That said, it's perfectly possible to be given enough rooms to get you to £5 if you're playing well - rarely £10 though, and (in my experience) it never gives JP. But it's a good game for offering a decent shot at a fiver.

The Booby Prizes come in pairs on either stake - you just have to take it on the chin when it happens and lose your extra life.
Don't think the £1 game bears any marked difference to the 50p game except the prizes are bigger - I've done a fair few £14's and £15's now.

I've had an £18.xx (on the £1 game obviously) and there's not a whole lot else out there that can beat that. My only tip is to always take the first prize offered until both Booby Prizes have appeared - it's just so galling to lose that precious life on a Booby Prize. I also keep a mental note of whether the £2, £4 and £6 prizes have gone yet - worth knowing when deciding what to go for if you have got rid of both Booby Prizes.
It's interesting that there is space for three lives - what are the chances of ever being offered more than one?
As for Cluedo Reloaded, I've never found it worth the effort but based on the best tactic from the original JPM Cluedo then going after the 6 suspects would seem your best bet.
P.S. A virtual pint goes out to someone (and I know I could look it up but that would be cheating!) who can tell me why is a Booby Prize called a Booby Prize?

Yeah it seems to react by not giving any lives after you've won. Also it doesn't let you take your extra lives (if you've still got them) into the prize round which is a bit of a con.
Quality game though. True test of knowledge in my opinion.

There was an earlier 'Take It or Leave It' game which was truly atrocious, so don't confuse it with that one.
What I would say is that this new one is a real test of nerve and that it is an 'all or nothing' game - unlike most other games you can't play with the aim of going for smaller prizes then collecting what you have. It will also give you some really tricky questions if it doesn't want to pay - true 50-50 guesses. It does also retain in its armoury the fruit machine-style killer of giving you both Booby Prizes together hence taking your one life (foxy's rare sighting of two lives notwithstanding) or ending the game if you have already lost your life.
These caveats aside, it is a decent enough game.
Now, where IS my seventh lightbulb...?
