generous and tight machines in the same pub

Post by Istenem »

this struck me as bizarre.

over lunch i was in a certain pub with two titboxes (one old (very) and the other issue 53).

i played the old one first and it was like nuzzling on the golden tit: easy £4 off hex, similar from cryptic clues, WU £1 at 1100, close to potting donkey derby, and on bullseye it slipped out of the £2 sector into the £5 bullseye.

after a stroll across the pub with my unpleasant lasange i was at machine two, the issue 53.
it played awfully, 801 on bullseye, 5750/3properties/only one pass/try again on monopoly, 22000ish no win on IS2007, WU was 1600 for £1 etc.

it was most peculiar, while it is not exactly far from any wandering pro's route, why on earth was the older machine so easy and the newer one obviously mean?

in other news: the new box had the highest score i have seen on new monopoly at 12xxx
which is quite an effort. any of you gents want to claim it? the pub was yates on leicester square.
nobody ever wins on those things.

That is strange. Is the older one hidden away behind a pillar or something like that? It is a horrible place though - the last time I went there (some time ago now) I was asked for ID on the door despite being one or two years past 21 (ahem) - so maybe even pros have standards?
