Naughty Invincible
Was in a place called Newport, Staffs. on Saturday.
Played a £35 invincible that just didn't play ball.
I was £230 down at one point from full, from showing, then a £105, then a £70, then a £35 within £10 worth of credits.
£240 in, for £210 out. £30 loss. Lucky under the circumstances.
In effect, if I had run out of money at the £230 in mark, it would have been possible for a hawker/vulture/rat to win £210 off a tenner.

Jeff Vickers you are one very lucky man, but good on ya
Two questions though, 1) You were £230 in, what was the max you were willing to put through cause we are going into silly money territory, and 2) If you decided to walk at £230 and some rat dived on it and won £210 from £10 credits, what would you have done?

1) An infinite sum of money. I'll get that top if it kills me.
2) I would have vapourized them with a zap-blastomatic.
I remember playing about on a £25 Invincible. It was there after about £20, but I wanted it really mind buggerringly hot super there, experimentation, you know, mega frisky. So I collected on a couple of complete name fills and then it 'locked up'. It took the piss on 2s and 11s. Started going Abb1 for long patches. Had me worried. £220 in and I got my first top.....a £25!!!!!!! followed shortly by a £75........then another £75......tons of afterplay....nearly emptied it twice, well not nearly, but pretty much got my money back, so left it fairly low. £125 hopper.

After £200 involved, I had a few thoughts in my head, the 1st, was it a rogue program? 2nd. Thought of ringing the leisure company to scream at them about trading standards and you have 2 days to get rid of it or I smash it to bits with a hammer, and 3rd, Wheres the nearest hardware store so I can get some glue.
Got off lightly in the end though., put me off playing them for a while though.
The Show me the Mummy was over £150 off in the same pub though, so other players must give this machine a wide berth.

weird you saying this jeff cause i've had something similar on an invincible today, first board today on one was ARB3 and full first pound, cost me £160 for my first top and it was giving skill stop, and plenty of number runners, now knowing its not a note changer i know i'm gonna finish down on a full showing machine, too cut a long story short it went £70 first top then £35, £35, £35 £35, £35 luckily the last 2 £35 tops came together and i was about £20 up, tried a few boards too make double sure there was no value left and knowing i was gonna leave an IOU i was trying too get the bank as high as poss. so left it IOU £16 and told the bird behind the bar who just went ''oh yeah its always doing that'' and paid me out the till
with the streak potential now on £35 reds they all really should be £250 hoppers now note changers or not

Cobwebs
i had a problem on an invincible aswell on £25jp
always showing from first board ended up putting in £120
for a £25 then £75 then a £50 from top
then a few red featurees after.
it was a note changer and about £80 or sp off. So i couldnt be sure if someone else hadnt been in to do it and left it happy....
plenty of muppets who think they can play round here.

I've been caught once by invincible. Like you say showing all the signs that its ready but just not breaking through the SS. Cost around £100 to finally get the top which did £70 then next board was ABB1 even though I'd got hiddens on so took hiddens and it awarded notation with a 1 in the middle giving me £35

got lucky on 1 of these tonight was fake dropping from the off but looked happy, plus i only realised it was fake when i got my first top for £35 and collected to recycle as it was still redding. anyway eventually got a £70 top and it died on its arse. overall put £90 in for about £120 out which i feel was very lucky.

Fake backing on Reds used to be for £7 - which I thought was cheeky, as it was just enough to rope you in to try for a board, but too much for you to usually make a profit from one board. Did anyone test the delay between playing and getting the fake drop until it kicked in again?
I'm pretty sure now that most machines don't fake drop, but if they appear to be, then a setting or such may be wrong.
On the subject of Invincible, I had £50 on me last night, and I realise that's a risk in itself to take on this particular Red, but it was ARB1 from the first board, blocked at the SS for a good three or four boards. I was down to my last pound, had my phone out to call in emergency funds, was on SS, lower than a 10+bonus...
...MS for £105!!! A big let-off indeed and a bit of an initially silly decision by myself to force. Went on from there to get a £70 from a Vortex after £20 in and a £35 MS from Carribean Cash from £5 (SSS first bonus - didn't want to KB it, as I was unsure whether someone had already taken the top beforehand!)

"And do you ever contradict yourself, Minister?" "Well, yes and no..."
it cost 60ish for the first top. it was definately fake dropping because when i collected my £35 out it was still droppingdarren223 wrote:Fake dropping? Strange, i know it exists but i find it very rare with these newer reds, in fact i thought it had been wiped out altogether!
How much did it cost for the first top, and what then made you assume it was fake? Not saying your lying or nothing, just curious![]()
