Don't get me wrong. I gave up smoking May 2006 and I'm extrememly pleased its been banned here. On a brighter note/scent other pubs/bars which sell food can smell pretty nifty now, although it makes me hungry!Mattb wrote:Last time i checked, BO wasn't a cause of lung cancer, so that doesn't matter!
It made me laugh when all the smokers started saying pubs will smell of sweat instead. Do they think everyone is an uncivilised pig who doesn't wash? Poor argument!
The smoking ban kicked in up here about a year ago now, but I might be in the minority here when I say I miss the smell of smoke.
I dont smoke, but when the world cup was on last summer and you walked into a seriously packed pub, it was like getting slapped in the face by an invisible B.O. monster.
Its a bit better now but most places had to recarpet / refurnish their premises cos of the smell of stale smoke.
Back on topic I go for a pint if im out at night, and alternate between pints and irn bru during the day.
