Agreed, we all have a sample size of one - even if you play as a group you can still only hover around one machine at a time in most cases (the odd two-machine pub and bowling alley excepted).
Frankly though, if you think you can still make as much now as you did when say Dr Fox was at his prime or every machine had Big Match/Big Match World Cup or Caveman Capers was new or there were standalone WWTBAMs everywhere then all I can say is the element of balance of bravado vs. reality in what you post has tipped far too far towards the bravado end. It would be far easier for me to post "everything's great, all the new games are superb and I can still win as much as ever" but I think I'd rather live in the real world.

One end of the city to the other via a few central pubs.foxy wrote:Er, just to go back to the original topic - where did you go Vidmar?
Was it city centre and down sauchiehall street or did you venture to the west end?
There are three machines in Glasgow city centre that I know of that still pay out good amounts but on the majority of them there isn't much going at the moment.
Up until recently there was an itbox that hadn't updated in years - it still had old Cluedo, amongst others - and was my favourite but now it's just like the rest of them.

Yeah I've seen you about. I'm 'Vid' or 'RFC' and I'm usually sitting just behind you.dmac07 wrote:i own itbox soccer on most of the machines in central Glasgow...oh and central london for that matter... and well, OK edinburgh too
I take it you are well up on your 'Watford Legends' and 'Barnsley Heroes' then?
Worst one I had recently was 'TV Pundits' and it was some Welsh guy with a first name like Espeth or something.
"Let the others come after us. We welcome the chase"
yeah I suppose. It's not just about knowing the answers though, you have to know how to minimise losses.Vidmar wrote: I take it you are well up on your 'Watford Legends' and 'Barnsley Heroes' then?
i.e. WALSALL LEGENDS (5,6)
I'd be tempted to type O (which wouldn't get ALLAN CLARKE) or E (which wouldn't get COLIN TAYLOR). But A or L or R would get both plus JORGE LEITAO etc.
Same thing works on other games like Hex and Shoot for the stars as well
May I ask how you know what the potential answers might be in the first place? Do you have a list from somewhere or have you just made careful note of all the answers that have ever come up while you've been playing? Or is your football knowledge so good that, given something like LEICESTER CITY PLAYERS (6,6) you are instantly able to think of three or four candidates? Because my football knowledge is good, but I'm nowhere near that standard...!dmac07 wrote: yeah I suppose. It's not just about knowing the answers though, you have to know how to minimise losses.
