Visited a new pub today, 3 gamblers and 2 (yes 2!) sh*t boxes. One was next to the pool table and Swis Tony was being played with constantly. The other Sh*tbox was never played.
So which machine would you go for?
I opted to ignore the unplayed machine, as there wouldn't be any money worth chasing on that, and gave up waiting for machine #2.
Fruitie was worth a punt though, so not a wasted visit after all
I'm not sure one can deduce that an unplayed machine will not have any money in it - in any case it was worth playing while the other IB was in play to hone your skills and for the off-chance of winning some cash. My rule is never not to play a machine if time allows; apart from the notorious Paragons with the worst selection of games ever put together (see Walkabout, Finchley Road, NW3, for example).

Sadly I think that goes for any Walkabout. Only a year ago they were a must visit for machine-playing (as long as you avoided their busy nights when they can be like one of the levels in Dante's Inferno) but now they mainly have Paragons which are not worth the effort of raising your hand to the coin slot to play.
have to agree with that, whoever is in charge of those walkabout places couldn't give a tinker's cuss about the SWPs (or hygiene, quality of draught, kitchen cleanliness, attitude of staff, etc. etc. etc.)
all they seem to care about is celebrating how very fantastic it is to come from oz/nz/rsa and watching niche sports on oversized screens.
that said my last two £20 JP WU machines were in walkaboutses. they lasted quite a while too. the stupid bastards would fill up the swp, i'd empty it with mediocre clearances and they'd fill it up for me again.
From my (very limited) experience Scream pubs are student holes, and should therefore be rich pickings, if the quality of students is anything to go by.
