So, what do we all think is on the horizon?

Post by Matt Vinyl »

Just been watching a few absurd new gameshows on TV. Obviously trying to follow in the footsteps of 'Beardy and his Boxes'.

The Grid - looks almost like a computerised version of DOND, but with a bit of variation with 'bankrupt' boxes etc. How long until that's made into a SWP?

Take It or Leave It - I know there's a game with this name already (it's pants!) so there may be problems if they want to make this into an SWP. The player answer questions where they are then offered one answer, and they can either accept that or 'no deal' it for another answer, which they have to go with. They can then pick from some 'random' safe boxes to build up their winnings. The presenter of this makes Noel Edmonds look class! Although, this does sound like it could be quite a good game if it were to be 'converted' from TV to Games Box.

Anyone else seen any programmes that 'are sure' to be snapped up by the programmers out there?

:)

"Press Your Luck". A game show from America a couple o decades ago, which involved a few questions, then hitting boxes on an electronic screen in the hope of big cash instead of being made bankrupt.

This chap is rather good at it. A little too good. But what makes it obvious?

Is it because he's got a beard?

Er, no, will watch the video and try and come up with something more sensible... ;)

Matt

I think there might already be a game called 'the Grid' out there (on Gamesnet). Played it the other day, had a couple of quick wins and then got out before I got skanked as usual. It looks like a rip off the matrix tho- all green lights, you have fuses instead of lives etc- is it the prog the same?

He just memorised the sequence of the flashes. Certain squares never had a bankrupt symbol, and these are the only ones he ever lands on.

But even more obviously than that, he starts celebrating before he even sees what he has stopped it on!
